I loved doing these. The kit came with everything except the filling. I actually managed to turn the stars without cutting the back - I put a small amount of interfacing on the red fabric to prevent it fraying, and then turned it from a small gap in the side seam. A great ‘take anywhere’ project.

5 Sashiko star kit

Great instructions - great outcome - easy to do. I modified the instructions slightly sewing the long edges of the backing fabric together (1/8 inch seam allowance), pressed the folded edge, cut along it, and the pressed the seam open, then placed the backing on the embroidered front (wrong sides together) - sewed around the stars as per instructions then open a small portion of the backing seam & turned inside out. Stuffed the stars and then hand sewed up the opening at the back. Worked out very neatly.

I wish there had been some instructions that included which stars to stitch on the fabric provided AND still have room for sewing them together.

Not a big problem but you have to be careful with cutting out and stitching stars with all the other stars around the chosen one. Also I should have used a finer sashiko needle and or thread as my needle and given thread made larger holes. The red thread on cream is really nice. delivery time was excellent. Thanks
