Olympus Stencilled Sashiko Fabric is a superior quality cotton available in 5 different printed designs in a range of 4 colours. The designs are Asanoha (Hemp Leaf) Interlocking Circles and Overlapping Waves. The colours available are Ecru, Navy Blue, Light Blue, Black (similar to a French navy colour so nearly black).
Please note: Only wash the stencilled fabric in warm soapy water to remove the lines once all sashiko work is complete.
Sashiko work can add a unique decorative finish to many craft projects including cushions bags quilts & garments.

Easy way to start Sashiko
After attending Jane's Sashiko workshop at Ulladulla, NSW, last September with my sister, I decided to introduce Sashiko at my local U3A Campbelltown South Australia. I made Kits for participants in 2 hour workshop using 20cm of this fabric, white thread and needles . Comment from one of he members "This is the perfect way to start Sashiko". Participants were asked to mark a rectangle on half the fabric strip and start stitching this. Then they can fold the fabric over and make a drawstring bag or use the rectangle to decorate other things. Next workshop will be the Sashiko Christmas Stars!
