The cloth is then washed to reveal the design clear of the stencilled lines. The extensive range of single-coloured and variegated sashiko threads and embroidery threads available enables you to create many unique colour and design variations which can be used simply as napkins and placemats or to create cushions, bags, quilts and garments.
